MISSOULA, Mont. (April 12, 2016) – The Village Health Care Center, a rehabilitation and health care center managed by The Goodman Group, is proud to announce that it has been recognized with the Outstanding Volunteer Award from the Montana Health Care Association in recognition of Paul Hopcroft. The award banquet took place on Tues., April 5, in Bozeman, Mont.
“For 12 years, Paul has helped residents reach their potential by meeting their individual needs,” said Kathy Hammond, executive director of The Village Health Care Center. “Longevity and compassion are the traits that make Paul so valuable to our community. We are very fortunate to have Paul as a longtime volunteer. He greatly enriches the lives of our residents and team members.”
Paul supervises the resident dinner once a week and leads many of the game related afternoon activities. Aside from these two supportive roles, he spends much of his time walking around the community to visit with residents. He is also a remarkable volunteer mentor, and his outreach has helped increase The Village Health Care Center’s community volunteer partners each year. He is conscious of how the residents are feeling and what they need in regard to their psychosocial wellbeing.
“Paul is an important member of a growing volunteer base,” said Kyle Williams, volunteer coordinator of The Village Health Care Center. “In 2015, the Center had a total of 1,951 donated volunteer hours, and we are well on our way to surpassing that this year. The Missoula community has been tremendously generous with their time and resources.”
